How to Write a Business Plan to raise money and brings result
Before you raise money for your business, you must have a have a a list of questions you must ask yourself before starting as it will guide you in creating a skeletal picture of your business which you are going to run. Remember we are talking about ideas here. Therefore, you must have a blueprint of what business you want to run, how you want to run it.
I totally agree with Chris Corrignan when he said
“I think the most important CEO task is defining the course that the business will take over the next five or so years. You have to have the ability to see what the business environment might be like a long way out, not just over the coming months. You need to be able to both set a broad direction, and also to take particular decisions along the way that make that broad direction unfold correctly”
You must decide how your lifestyle will affect your business. I love travelling and so I decided to run a business that will not require me to be physically there. I run both passive and active income kind of creative business. But my clients must not be conformed to being in the country of my residence. I started this business method after reading “How to make money out of thin air” by an Australian Bryan Shear. I recommend that book for you.
Brian Tracy said “A clear vision, backed by definite plans, gives you a tremendous feeling of confidence and personal power”
Your Business Plan is a very essential tool to your business success. Be it a blogging business, article writing, offline business, web design etc you need a nice business plan. Still most people get confused here. You don’t need a lengthy business plane to make result. Straight to the point is what you need, but with real details.
Most small businesses fail because they don’t have a business plan. They don’t have a blueprint or working plan. You must therefore write a business plan if you want to succeed. Neglect this step and you ruin your business completely.
What exactly is business planning?
Business planning is about results. You need to make the contents of your plan match your purpose. A business plan is any plan that works for a business to look ahead, allocate resources, focus on key points, and prepare for problems and opportunities.
But the issue here is that a lot of people think it is only for starting a new business or applying for business funding. It is deeper than that. You need to look at various vital elements of running a business holistically in your business plan writing.
The purpose of your business plan therefore is basically to optimize growth and development according to priorities.
Does Business Plans have Standard Layout?
Business plan outlines according to experts vary but what make the standard is the elements. It must include as a standard such components as company description, product or services, market, financial analysis and the management team.
Your ability to get investors will depend on the management team while investor’s financial history is important to the banks. But if you are running this business as a solopreneur, then you will also need to convince investors the business is viable with your business plan.
Therefore adding all the necessary details you already know will help your business plan.
Standard Business Plan:
In this standard, the order does not matter but the following components must be there. If you don’t want to use this, you can go online and buy a Business Plan Pro Software
1. Executive Summary: This is where you have a page or two summarizing or highlighting your business. It should be the last part of your business, not more than two pages.
2. Company Description: This will include the legal establishment of your company, the history and your start up plans etc.
3. Product or Service: Here describe what you are selling and focus particularly on the benefits your product will give to your customer and how yours is different.
4. Market Analysis: Understanding your market is important and this is what this section addresses. You need to know your market, customer needs, where they are, how to reach them, etc.
5. Strategy and Implementation: Be specific. Include management responsibilities with dates and budget. This will help you work without drifting.
6. Management Team: Include backgrounds of key members of the team, personnel strategy, and details. If you are running this business alone, state it clearly.
