I have dedicated much time to creating my products, selling them online and offline as well as organizing my seminars on Saturdays. But when I changed my internet marketing plans months back, I decided to stop weekend work and dedicate most of my time to having fun with my family and only attend to speaking invitations on Saturdays.

I took this decision as I now work only weekdays for three hours a day and have time that I am using to develop some other offline business. I have dedicated last month to distributing and marketing my physical-printed books. I am telling you this just to give you an insight into what I do now and what I want you to learn from this post and how you can use it. It is not intended for showing off or for ego. far from it. If you start Information marketing for example and do not plan a definite goal, you may get frustrated. Or if you are in the group that want to start a blogging business, you should also consider 5 reasons why you want to set up a blog before starting instead of going into a business that will not bring results.

I have established several businesses and also failed in some. I have had a business crash where I sold my properties to fund it. I have had to bring back a fallen business to life again. So I do know what business planning means to many especially those who want to start online or offline business.

As with any business, what most newbie fail to understand is that you only need to apply the 20/80 rules to be successful in internet marketing, even in online business. With the 20/80 rules, you should discover ideas, test them and concentrate 80% of your effort on 20% of  ideas that has worked very well and put all effort into it to become successful.  This is why I have thrown all my effort in what works for me.  They are:

1. CONCEPTUAL Information Marketing : This is the major place I make my money online, I have added conceptual as ideas are empty on their own. But concepts in any idea is what sells it. You would have seen or even personally experienced where you have a great domain name, a great website, nice content but wrong concept and see your business failing because you could not interpret your concept to your buyers.

2. Building and Selling Websites: I build and sell websites and I found it convenient for me to build conceptual sites and sell them to ready made buyers who need a working site to buy and make money instead of starting from the scratch. 3. Creating and Selling WordPress Themes: Yes, I started experimenting with building wordpress themes exactly December last year and have created lots of wordpress and blogger themes and templates that sells.

4. Selling Advert Spaces on My sites: I sell text links and inline texts on some of my site but this is on a low scale. I have tried applying for more programs that can pay me for text ads but just had a few of them approved my sites. I will keep working in this regard.

5. Domain Registration and Hosting: Yes, this is my recurrent income.

6. Seminars(Rested Now): Rested.

7. Book and Magazine Publishing: Many people have actually asked me what they should to to make money online. And my answer has been that they should discover what they love doing. My first love is writing, though I read Mathematics in the University. I love expressing myself and this has led to my writing for passion first, then for money. My Self publishing business is where I am concentrating offline. This also helps me in marketing my online and offline products.

8. Others

Pre-New Year Plans:

December of each year are always my month for product creation for the next year and this has been my routine.  Also, last weeks of November of each year has always been my week of reflections. I sit down and take stock each year where I fared well and where I did not do well and refocus. I try to put everything in black and white.

So What Have I done This Weekend?

I have taken a closer look at the industry and my clients as well as future clients and the future of the industry. Of a truth, information marketing using various platforms has been where I decided to concentrate more it is the easiest for me to create and make passive and residual income from. This is my blue print and marketing plan.

This is simply because I just have to create the products and sell them either as ebooks, or in a membership site. Secondly, website Flipping takes a second place and I am making more sites and selling off quickly. I am increasing my portfolio here.

I have learned to plan ahead and this helps. I have created goals and what I need to achieve these goals. I have a target of the minimum number of products I will be selling in 2012. I have also segmented this into three categories;

Small Reports: I am making 50 small reports that will sell for $10 each and I will be building an information product store to sell these products. These reports will be providing solutions for challenges in online business for anyone who want a particular solution. Over the months, I have compiled challenges that people have been sending to me by email and other social media and have also included them in what I am creating as products.

Premium Membership Site: While I am creating a small report store, I am also creating a membership mentoring program that is a premium. Here I will have only those who want a complete mentoring program for a full year added there and train them exclusively. They can get my attention, free consultation and support exclusively. I have made an estimate of what this will cost and what number I will be expecting to enroll in this site.  This will help in my market projection.

Affiliate Partnership/JV Earning Proposed Decision: It takes a team to make more money. I am creating these products with my list subscribers, fans and those who want to make money in mind. I have purchased a high end affiliate software and membership software that will be running these systems. With this, I will have to share affiliate income with affiliates promoting these sites and making money with me. This is my leverage.

Staff Team: I am adding a virtual staff who lives in a different country from me and he is taking charge of the support and maintenance. Mine is to set up these systems and have them work on auto pilot.

Value: I have often discovered that when you over deliver in terms of value to products and beat customers expectation, you invariably will turn them to market your product as affiliate, give testimonials  and also bring referrals.

Action Time:

This is a big task ahead of me. It is a task that I must put in place in the next few weeks and it will work. I have spent yesterday in just researching online, chatting and taking surveys from my loyal clients. I have segmented my tasks into short and long term.

I am producing first the information products and putting them together. I have carried out my research and created 150 product tittles today. I will stream line them and start writing them and do hope to produce 50 products in the next 20 days, create a site and sales page, start a pre-sales campaign and launch the products January.

Because I have decided to dedicate this blog to writing how Internet Marketing works, I am showing you what my plans are and how I intend to achieve it. The lesson I want you to learn here is that you need to know and understand that Get-Rich-Quick does not work. It also shows you that you need to have a plan and work towards that plan to make money online.  It also tells you that you need to sell what the people want and not what you want. It also tell you that you need to plan early and not wait till the year come.
